I have an almost 3-year-old golden retriever who is the light of my life. She is literally a dream come true because starting when I was a little girl I always dreamed of having a golden retriever. Ever since I saw the movie Homeward Bound when I was just a little kid I wanted a golden retriever named Shadow. Well, her name is not Shadow, it’s Charlie, but let me tell you, she is more than I ever could have hoped for.
My husband and I are total dog parents. You ask if we have kids? Yes, we have one beautiful daughter, a golden retriever named Charlie. She may not be human, but she is our child and the light of our life. We do plan to have human children in the future, but Charlie will remain just as important to us.
She’s our little girl, my emotional support animal (she does wonders for both my generalized and social anxiety), our firstborn child, and our very best friend. She changed our lives in the very best way, and seeing her joy on a daily basis makes us happier than we ever could have imagined.
